For this Pink Saturday, here is one of my favorite things...

This is the shabby chic wall in the hallway of my foyer. If you look at the wallpaper up close, it has words written on it. My sister and I stood there and read some of the sentences one day. It made us laugh. One of the sentences reads, "Go to bed." The long picture frame at the far right of the picture contains one of my favorite sayings which is, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." - Anonymous (I think)

A fondness for tea...

Tea to me is necessary to make my day complete

Having tea with friends at my favorite tea room is a luxury I so enjoy

my most favorite place to have afternoon tea

Pink Saturday For Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Through my Auntie Ruth's eyes

My dear Auntie Ruth passed away two years ago. Although she was ninety-one years old, she left us way too soon, and rather suddenly. While my sister and I were attending to her affairs and cleaning out her house, a neighbor of hers from across the street came over and gave us lily bulbs from her own garden. I planted the bulbs the following autumn and impatiently waited until last spring to see them. Aren't they gorgeous?

The really beautiful thing about them is when I look at them blooming each spring I am looking at something my aunt would joyfully view each spring when she would look out her front window and across the street.

What a beautiful gift this neighbor to my aunt gave us. I am impatiently waiting for them to bloom again this spring, which is not too far off, I hope.
