Through my Auntie Ruth's eyes
My dear Auntie Ruth passed away two years ago. Although she was ninety-one years old, she left us way too soon, and rather suddenly. While my sister and I were attending to her affairs and cleaning out her house, a neighbor of hers from across the street came over and gave us lily bulbs from her own garden. I planted the bulbs the following autumn and impatiently waited until last spring to see them. Aren't they gorgeous?
The really beautiful thing about them is when I look at them blooming each spring I am looking at something my aunt would joyfully view each spring when she would look out her front window and across the street.
What a beautiful gift this neighbor to my aunt gave us. I am impatiently waiting for them to bloom again this spring, which is not too far off, I hope.
